Nicaragua
Chris Roethke, Sales Manager, just got back from a surfing safari in Nicaragua. Here are some of the highlights of his trip.
Serena: How did you enjoy your trip to Nicaragua?
Chris: The trip was so awesome. After being picked up at the airport in Managua, we headed for Los Cardones Ecolodge. The bungalows are right on the beach. Izic and Laurie were fantastic hosts and wonderful cooks. We hit the water right away.
Serena: How was the beach?
Chris: The beach is beautiful and untouched. We didn't even see another surfer besides those in our group the whole week.
There are some waves right behind Los Cardones, but during our stay, the best waves were a ways upcoast. So every morning at sunrise, we hiked up to our spot or caught a ride with Izic. Once, a man on horseback passed by. The people there are warm and friendly.
Serena: How were the waves?
Chris: Outstanding. I want to go back with a new board to do them justice. We surfed at least 5 hours every day.

I am traveling to Los Cardones in May and cannot wait! Do you know of any good fishing areas nearby during the rainy season?
