The invitations to "FLIBS" have started arriving. The charter yachts will be hosting cocktails and hors d'oeuvres for the clients and the lucky brokers attending the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show Oct 30- Nov 3, 2008. In town during the show is the fabulous TRILOGY - 90' Stephens M/Y New River behind Riverside Hotel. I like to attend on the preview day of the show when crowds are thin.

Oct 15, 2008 (Miami Beach, FL) 350 top sales people and managers from the electronics and entertaiment retailer Best Buy enjoyed "Casino Night" on board the fabulous Grand Floridian, a luxury yacht in Miami Beach, Florida. Guests played poker, roulette, Black Jack, slots and craps on four decks. Getting underway during a picture perfect South Florida sunset, a DJ provided entertainment on the open air top deck as the group cruised toward Biscayne Bay. Delicious butler-passed appetizers were constantly offered by the smartly-dressed yacht crew. Drinks were available from bars on all levels. As the party wound down, winners cashed in chips and headed for dancing and prize drawings up top under a perfect full moon over Miami.

Plan a casino night fundraiser on a yacht

If you're looking for a new fundraiser that's sure to be a great draw and a lot of fun, plan a casino night on a yacht. Why would you plan this event on a yacht? Your guests will live up to the air of luxury and spend more. You'll have a "captive" audience for the length of your event. And you'll have the allure of the water, for your guests who might not be gamers by nature, a fabulous setting. These ships would make great casino venues

Let’s say you have an event with a ticket price of $100. Guests might get 20 chips to start a value of $20. We would suggest $5 min at tables to keep things moving and interesting. Whenever they want, guests can purchase additional chips. They would donate $100 to the cause and get 100 chips if your value system is $1 = 1 chip. If you think your crowd might be more price sensitive, you can say donate $25 get 100 chips.

When the time comes to cash out, you have different options. Most organizations have collected donations. You can hold a straight raffle or a chinese raffle. Or you can have an auction, where participants bid with chips. You can also simply award the prizes to top winners.

Professional dealers and decorations will enhance the quality of the event so go with a company who comes well recommended!
